PETRINA HEADSHOT.jpg

After graduating from Bangalore University in Communicative English, Petrina travelled to NZ where she wrote for the Sunday Star Times& Sunday News – two national weeklies in NZ,  and simultaneously graduated with a distinction & double major in directing and producing from South Seas in Auckland.

Ideating, executing and marketing projects with efficiency are Petrina’s forte. She has been part of various co-productions for feature films, television and short films with Greece, Australia, New Zealand and India in the capacity of a CEO, an associate producer, producer, executive producer and director. Petrina’s trans-global sensibilities helps her when working with co-productions.

Since returning to India, she has worked as a Producer  adfilms and it was during this time she realised the need for a networking platform for women working in the industry. With plenty of support from the WIFT International chair she initiated the need for a WIFT(Women in Film & Television), chapter in India.

She has been a jury member on the ‘Celebrate Age’ competition section at the 14th MAMI Film Festival. Petrina was appointed COO for Priyanka Chopra’s production house Purple Pebble Pictures. After which she worked briefly on films like NEWTON, KADVI HAWA, RUKH with Dhrisyam Films as CEO.

Petrina spearheaded the shaping of WIFT India and was responsible for the development of the chapter’s strategy, network and aim to enhance the visibility of women working in film & television. Today she sits on the board as the Founder of WIFT India.
